Queer Britain

Presented by YouTuber and journalist Riyadh Khalaf, Queer Britain gets under the skin of queer culture and shine a light on the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community.

Episode 1: Does God Hate Queers?

Riyadh meets a disfellowed Jehovah’s Witness, a Muslim woman seeking a marriage of convenience and transmasculine Christian Elijah as he is renamed in church.


Episode 2: The Search for the Perfect Body

Riyadh Khalaf looks at body image pressures in the gay community. He meets Jamal, who finds himself femme-shamed, and Rye, who has recovered from bulimia, and he also gets his kit off for a naked photo shoot with the Gay Times.


Episode 3: Out On the Streets

Riyadh Khalef explores the issues behind the statistic that one in four young homeless people in Britain identifies as LGBTQ+.

He meets rough sleeper Damian on the streets of Birmingham, follows John as he is rehomed into a temporary flat in Scotland, and speaks to Kristina about how she ended up without a home.
